A Logframe is a table that provides an overview of a project’s goal, activities,
anticipated results, and assumptions.
A Logframe specifies the components of a project and its activities and how they relate to one another. It also identifies the measures by which the project’s anticipated results will be monitored.
For programming, a Logframe is a project management tool that provides a practical framework for program review and learning. The aim of a Logframe is to work towards agreed objectives, usually with a funder.
For advocacy, there is no such standard tool. Sometimes Logframes are used to plan campaigns, but more often, advocacy plans are developed with key milestones identified for activities and outputs (deliverables). Change at the outcome level is rarely, if ever, attributed to one project or organization.
Change is usually due to the contribution of several organizations’ efforts. The following resources provide helpful guidance on developing measurable milestones for advocacy.
